Home Pastoral Care and Parish Life Parish Nursing

postheadericon Parish Nursing

Parish Nursing is a joint ministry of Bathurst and Bloor Street United Churches. It is based on the belief that spiritual health is inextricably linked to physical, mental and social well-being. The church is where this relationship can be explored and supported within the life and work of the faith community.

Our parish nurse, Nancy Gordon has been a member of Bloor Street United Church since 1974. She grew up in Trinidad where she was born into a missionary family.

After studying nursing at Ryerson, Nancy practised in oncology at Princess Margaret Hospital, in palliative care at the Toronto Grace Hospital and in general internal medicine at Toronto Western Hospital. As well as her parish nursing, Nancy works part-time at the Kensington Hospice.
